Getting here is 1/2 the fun!
Well, not really. We are going to have so much fun here you will forget all about the travel!
- +Will I need a current passport/visa?
If you are not a Canadian; Yes. You can find out what exactly you may need here.
- +What is the closest airport?
Halifax Stanfield International Airport. The airport code is YHZ.
- +Are there other airports?
Not really. There are some small regional ones, but YHZ is going to be your best bet.
- +How do I get to camp from the airport?
We will be picking people up in our vehicles at the airport on the first day of camp and offering drives back on the last day of camp. We will also arrange to have a shuttle available. You can also rent cars from most major rental companies at the airport.
- +How far is camp from the airport
It is about a 2 hour drive directly from the airport.
- +Is the cost of a shuttle included in the cost of the camp?
Yes, there is a shuttle avialable but it is limited in size and can only make a certain number of trips. We will update campers with more information as we get closer to the event date.
- +Is there any way we can setup something like a ride share from the airport?
Absolutely! Visit the forums to easily connect with your fellow campers to make arrangements.
- +What if I want to drive?
Driving is a great option in our opinion. The scenery is fantastic and you won’t meet nicer folks on your trip. We will admit though, the drive through New Brunswick from the USA is not the most exciting.
- +Is there a ferry option?
There should be a ferry running again from Portland, Maine to Yarmouth on the south end of Nova Scotia. More information can be found here. The ferry is a nice option as it trims a lot of boring driving out of the trip to Nova Scotia.
